Ethos

The Midnight Syndicate is a group of World of Warcraft guilds primarly made up of "Quarter To Midnight" (Bloodhoof, EU) and "Quarter Past Midnight" (Hellfire, EU). The Syndicate's play style is friendly and helpful, supporting casual levelling, end game instancing, focused around assisting each other to achieve our individual or group goals. While the Syndicate may attempt to take part in end game raids and other activities it should not be expected that the Syndicate will focus it's activities on these goals.

General Rules

  • The Syndicate expects it's members:
    • To behave in a mature and adult fashion.
    • To act in a courteous and helpful manner.
    • To never let your actions reflect badly on the Syndicate or it's member guilds.
  • The Syndicate does not expect it's members:
    • To dedicate fixed hours or keep to schedules for guild activities (though withdrawing from events you had previously agreed to participate in is frowned upon).
    • To restrict themselves to only participating in Syndicare activities, you are free to join other instancing groups and/or take part in other guilds' events.
  • Any guild issues are handled by the Signatory members, if a decision can not be agreed upon then the relevant Guild Master has the final say.

Instancing and Raiding Rules

  • Groups can be started by anyone, however once full, control should be handed to the tank or raid leader.
  • Players are expected to be prepared, repaired, stocked of reagents, ammo, food, pots.
  • Players are expected to be ready at the instance entrance at the arranged start time.
  • Planned events are expected to make use of TeamSpeak for communication unless it is not called for, ad-hoc events are also welcome to use one of the TeamSpeak channels.
  • Unless the group is specifically planning not to, players would be best advised to read the various strategies online for the instance.
(For example the last boss in Ahn'kahet can be more fun not knowing the strategy.)
  • Absolutely no looting during combat, this is distracting and may get in the way of player's combat frames.
  • Players must not expect an event to be flawless, infact if it is the first time an instance is run they should expect mass death and large repair bills.
  • Learning how to complete an instance is sometimes the most rewarding aspect.
  • Players are at the direction of the party/raid leader or tanks. They may direct you to perform certain duties if you are comfortable doing them.
  • Leaders may ask you to follow marks, perform area of effect spells or leave it up to you.
  • Marking used by the Syndicate is: Star, Circle, Diamond, Triangle.
  • The following add-ons are highly recommended/manditory:
    • Omen 3 - Threat Meter
    • Deadly Boss Mods - Boss Assists
  • Upon death do not release from your body until you are sure no ressurection is possible, some classes can combat ressurect.
    • It can be a good learning experience to witness others failing or succeeding.
    • In most instaces you can not get back in until the fight is over.

Looting Rules for Guild Instance Runs

  • When Bind on Pickup (BoP) items drop from bosses, the loot available should be discussed before interested parties click need or greed.
    • Consider if the player needs an item to complete a set.
    • Consider the existing items the players have, how much of a benefit would it be to them, and whether the improvement to their kit would be more significant than yours.
    • Multiple requests for an item which cannot be decided by discussion should be decided through a /roll.
  • Unwanted Uncommon or lower items should be rolled for on a normal need/greed basis with people needing if they would have use for it on their main, or an alt.
  • Unwanted Bind On Equip (BoE) items of rare or higher should be discussed for possible alt use, or placed in the guild bank.
  • Unwanted Bind On Pickup (BoP) items should be given to a disenchanter if one is present, otherwise rolled upon to sell.

Membership

  • General membership for the Syndicate is closed, new candidates may be invited by existing members via a signatory.
  • Candidates must be vouched for by an existing member.
  • New candidates are prefered to be known in person by the inviter, or have played online with the inviter for a significant period of time.
  • New members are introduced into the guild as a Recruit, see "Guild Structure" section.

Guild Bank

  • Is free to use for all users.
  • It is expected that users will only withdraw items for characters who are members of the Syndicate.
  • All members of the Syndicate have the same level of access with the exception of Cashiers and the Guild Master.
  • Players may only have one "main" character and one designated bank character who are permitted access. This is to prevent significant loss to guild assets in the case of a compromised account.
  • Players may borrow money from the guild bank on the expectation that it is repaid within a reasonable period of time.
  • Players are expected to contribute some money back to the bank when they remove items to help fund more bank slots or reagents.
    • A rough guide is 50% of auction house value when over 10g or 1.5x vendor price when under.
  • If players exhaust their withdrawl quotas for a day a Signatory or Cashier can remove further items on their behalf.
  • It is recommended all users have a Banker character who can withdraw and post items to their mains and alts if they are not near a capital city.

  • Tab 1 - Leveling
This tab is for items that characters will make use of while leveling from 1 to 79. This includes equipment, potions, non-endgame reputation items, bags, glyphs, etc. Raw materials for things that you want another character to make can also be put in here.
  • Tab 2 - Professions
This tab is for profession patterns and materials that are more difficult to come by. Things with a drop rate of less then 10%, hard to find patterns, but no infinite supply patterns. Please DO NOT put patterns that are supplied by vendors or trainers at known places (i.e. trainer shops).
  • Tab 3 - "Endgame"
This tab is for rare or low drop rate weapons that would instantly give a new level 80 a boost, rare spells and tomes and additionally expensive reagents (worth more then 1-2g per item). Endgame reputation items should additionally be placed in this tab. Finally other high level consumable items used in endgame instances and raids should be placed in here.
  • Tab 4 - "Swapshop"
This tab is used for swapping common materials such as Crystals and Eternals, it is expected you will put in what you take out although of a different type. Please note Earth is currently exempt from this as it is too common to be worthwhile.
