    Fantasy F1 standings following Canada

James and Lee suffer a little this week thanks to a lack of options before qualifying started, and so I move up into third, but the big news is that Sara finally manages to squeeze past the absent Sam, and climbs to within 5 points of Kimball.

We return to Valencia in two weeks time for the European GP, and you can bet that Legard is going to have his I Spy: Spanish Bridges book at the ready. Put down a couple of options now if you'd like, then update them before qualifying on the 26th.

I've waited a day just to make sure that all penalties were final, so apologies for the delay.

I think this is the first time where we've had two equally valuable top drivers. Vettel won from pole, and so gains maximum championship points, but Button gained 4 places and grabbed the fastest lap so takes 30 too. A stunning race by Kobayashi gives him a massive 28, and the incredible satisfaction of putting Eyebrows in his place in an inferior car. It was generally a very high-scoring race for everyone, with the lowest total (74) being just one point behind the highest from Canada. However, a few drivers still suffered; Massa's having to queue behind Alonso when everyone dived into the pits ruined his race, making him the biggest liability this week. Liuzzi suffered badly from the safety car speeding penalties and went from a positive score to a negative, and poor Nico Hulkenberg's dying Williams meant that he only scored 2, and finally gets his total positive score this season to a whopping 10 (Barrichello is currently on 51). Despite only having one car finish, Red Bull were the most valuable team this week, good news seeing as all but Andy used them either as an option or permanent choice.

Something is ridiculously broken if a team that has only one car actually finish the race can go on to be the best

To be honest, you're probably right. A team currently gets 10 points if it has the winning car, but winning the race should really just be a driver thing. Teams should be scoring points based on reliability and race pace as they currently do, and maybe have a small bonus for podiums, but I've maybe got the values backwards (it's 2 for a race finish, 5 for a top ten placement). The problem was balance really; there had to be a way to reward players for picking the best team whilst giving them points values that were worth caring about.

It's something I'll fix for next year I guess.
