    So then, I'm sat here eating my trifle, I have a question.

    I made this, strawberry jelly, strawberries, sponge fingers, custard and sweetened whipped cream.

    How much custard should there be? 'cos I don't think I used enough.

      Basically equal depths of each is perfect in my opinion. Should pour a little alcohol on the cakey bit aswell.

        See my problem with that is to many bad student memories with vodka and jelly. :)

        hah eew, yeah not vodka.A little bit of brandy goes down a treat. But ideally I trifle should be left to soak overnight.

      Chris' Trifle:
      Line bowl with some sort of chocolate cake. Get a tin of cherries, pop them into a pan with some alcohol (doesn't strictly matter which spirit, I tend to use brandy) and about half of the tinned juice and simmer for a while until the liquid thickens. Add extra alcohol and then spread over the cake. Add custard and top with thickly whipped cream. Sprinkle bits of cadburys flake on top. Enjoy the awesome.

      I reckon you need about two thirds the amount of cream as you do custard.
